We provide two types of vehicle inspection with 178 points checked. The standard inspection is the same
price for all eligible vehicles and our Prestige service cost varies depending on the type of vehicle and
location. All Prestige inspections require the use of an affiliate local garage with a vehicle lift which

What is the difference between Standard & Prestige inspections?
The one difference between the Standard & Prestige inspection is the use of a vehicle lift for the
Prestige inspection. Both vehicle inspections are subject to the same number of checks

What is not included in the vehicle inspection?
Computerised operating systems, Satellite navigation testing and items that rely on microprocessors for
their operation. Dismantling of engine parts.
How soon after ordering will the car be inspected?
The engineer will call the vendor as soon as possible to arrange a time that is mutually convenient. Most
inspections are carried out within 3 working days, subject to the location of vehicle.
How long is the test drive?
Dependent on location and engineer's judgment.
Is a test drive mandatory with the vehicle inspection?
Yes, however the engineer may deem the vehicle unfit for a test drive in which case no test drive will
take place.
Does the vehicle inspection have to take place at the owners home?
No. The inspection can take place at any chosen location by the owner providing the vehicle is in a
service region.
If I live in a service region but the vehicle I want to buy is not in a
service region, can I still order your Just Checks service for that vehicle.?
No, the service regions are defined by the location of our inspectors' area of coverage.

Do engineers work out of normal working hours?
It is dependant upon location and the engineer who will be carrying out the inspection. We always try to
fit into your busy schedule as best we can.
Does the customer have to be present at the inspection?
No
Does the engineer dismantle any parts on the vehicle?
As a rule no, however wheel trims maybe removed to give a better view of brake disks/callipers/pads etc.
The car is more than 15yrs old, do you inspect it?

Can you check the engine?
We only provide a visual inspection and can not dismantle any parts. In many situations the experienced
engineers will be able to tell you of any problems from the visual inspection, none invasive sampling,
the sound of the engine and the test drive.
Can I book an appointment time for the engineer before paying?
This cannot be done. The engineer will call the vendor as soon as possible to arrange a time that is
mutually convenient.
When are you open?
Bookings are available 24 hours per day online only. Telephone booking is not available
Can I have a refund?
Should an inspection be cancelled by the seller of a car advertised on this site due to the car being
listed as sold before the inspection appointment time has been booked we will issue a full refund.
In the event of cancellation by the customer who ordered the inspection, a charge of £20 will be retained. Should that cancellation take place within 24 hours of the time of the arranged inspection the amount retained will be increased to £30. The balance of your original payment will then be refunded to your credit card account.
Are there any guarantees?

Do you inspect imported vehicles?
Yes, provided the vehicle is registered in the UK and is a recognised model.
Can you inspect disability cars?
Yes as long as they don't have disability controls.
